SilverTrader: First SVN Check-in

November 20th, 2008 / Tales from a Trading Desk

Tonight I checked in the first cut of SilverTrader 2.0 that I have been working on. The code consists of a framework (QuickSilver) and an application built on the framework (SilverTrader). The framework provides componentized support for building applications – as per the original 1.1 build.

Currently I still have a bug with the window resize, but I’ve got two widgets (chart and trade entry) hosted within SilverTrader. I’m hoping one or two other Lab49′ers may provide some help in the near future. Here’s my current to-do list:

  • Fix widget resize bug
  • Hook chart widget up to push data source – WCF/Liberator/Lightstreamer
  • Migrate other widgets from 1.1 source code to 2.0: Blobby Graph, Stock Ticker, Surface, Video
  • Re-skin application
  • Enable trade entry and blotter
  • Check out what Prism 2.0 offers in the Silverlight space

For the trade entry, I’d ideally like to offer an MGrammer quick trade entry feature, but I suspect the Oslo assemblies are not Silverlight ready (
