I just got home and was excited to find a package from Amazon, my new copy of Microsoft Expression Blend Unleashed from Sams’ Unleashed series. The release date was set for June 12th and I only ordered it yesterday, so how it arrived today I have no idea… That USPS is really setting new heights for service.

Anyway, I haven’t had much time to really look through it yet, but was disappointed on first glance to see that it was all in black and white. Adam Nathan’s WPF Unleashed book from the same series has become one of the WPF bibles around the Lab49 office, one of the great reasons being it is all in color. I was expecting the same of the Blend book, why dive into the graphic design tool that partners along with WPF while abandoning the visually compelling look that helped make the first book a success? Odd choice, but hopefully it won’t detract from the book’s content too much.
