Visual Studio 2005 installation trick…
If you install VS Professional 2005 on a machine that previously had one of the beta CTP versions, your key bindings will be broken and your backspace/arrow keys will be disabled. It seems that this was an existing bug in the CTP releases of VS that was being reported between July and September, but fixed in the RTM version. However even after doing an uninstall of the beta version, the key binding file is still left on your machine to wreak havoc with your clean beautiful RTM install.
To fix the problem:
1. Exit Visual Studio.
2. Navigate to the Application Data folder for Visual Studio, for example: C:\Documents and Settings\
3. Launch Visual Studio.
After 5 years of Java development, I’m finally falling prey to the dark side…
